Yunlin is an agricultural county and has been known for its farming and fishing industries. In response to our accession to WTO and the implementation of two-day weekends, the county plans to focus on developing leisure farming and fishing in the hope to combine economic growth with leisure living. The beautiful landscape of Yunlin is familiar to all. The Janfusun Theme Park and Tsao LingCaoLing Scenic Area in Yunlin are famous tourist spots. But the Tsao LingCaoLing area was devastated in the aftermath of 921 earthquake. In its planned restoration, Tsao LingCaoLing will be joining the Stonewall Eco Park and Chang ZhanghuHu Scenic Area nearby to offer tourists more attractions during their visit. The county government is also working assiduously on introducing the local culture, historical sites, and religious events and celebrations in Yunlin to the general public. Under the concerted efforts of the county government employees, Yunlin is undergoing gradual transformation. Looking into the future, we are gearing toward developing tourism and leisure industry featuring "one specialty and one feature for each Hsiangtownship", and plan to set up various special zones in the hope to unite the tourism resources in Yunlin to develop tourism industry and to help spur economic growth. |
